Tamashii (or Shamballa) is a bracelet used by Tibetan monks to promote meditation, for religious practices and as a talisman.

Tamashii means "soul" and the term derives from "tama" which means "jewel", therefore  "Jewel of the soul". The wearer pursues an ideal of peace and love towards himself and the world, the bracelet helps to protect his soul, to make it grow and make it find a role and meaning within life.

Each Tamashii bracelet is characterized by a wooden element, representation of a pumpkin full of seeds, called Kamawatchi Calabush or simply Calabash which indicates in a particular way the continuity of life. The inhabitants of Zang (Xizang, Tibet) consider this amulet synonymous with happiness as it recalls the certainty of the continuity of life.
